Child Psychotherapist
Psychotherapy Services for Children
Every child is different and their emotions and behaviours can cause concern to parents and other professionals involved in a child’s life. It may be difficult for others to understand what makes a child sad or angry or have painful or confused thoughts and feelings. I am trained to carefully observe a child and am able respond to what they might be communicating through their behaviour and play.
I see children for a wide range of issues which include:
Anxiety
Depression
Fears
Anger
Jealousy
Bullying
Hyperactivity
Low self esteem
Self harm
Post Traumatic symptoms
Issues around Food and Eating
Difficulties associated with Sleep
Bereavement
Supporting Children to Manage Emotional Problems
Assessment starts with a series of short appointments. This helps me to get a picture of the issues and to make a treatment plan if this is needed, or to make recommendations to refer a child to another service or professional if that seems more appropriate.
